Obama to 'finish job' in Afghanistan
From the Editors
President Obama announced today that he intends to "finish the job" in Afghanistan, whatever that means. His official plan should be released on Tuesday.
It seems as though the President's rhetoric is trying to accomplish two objectives: separate himself and his administration from ownership of the war in Afghanistan and provide political cover for his administration's critics when he decides to deploy additional troops. Rhetorically the administration is saying we did not make this mess but we are going to clean it up.
More on the story:
| By finish the job,I hope he means turn that entire country into a sheet of glass. |

| Obamas going to live up to the promises Reagan made to Afghanistan back int the 80s, that the US would stay and help build up the infrastructure. However, Reagan failed to live up to his promise and Afghanistan became a haven for extremists such as Al Qaeda.
And unlike GW Bush, that started to actually go after the people responsible, but then turned all resources into ousting Saddam by invading Iraq, a country in which had NOTHING to do with 911, Obama is going after the real terrorists.
He's doing a great job. Keep it up Obama! |
