Obama to 'finish job' in Afghanistan

President Obama announced today that he intends to "finish the job" in Afghanistan, whatever that means. His official plan should be released on Tuesday.

It seems as though the President's rhetoric is trying to accomplish two objectives: separate himself and his administration from ownership of the war in Afghanistan and provide political cover for his administration's critics when he decides to deploy additional troops. Rhetorically the administration is saying we did not make this mess but we are going to clean it up.
