Obama Ignores Americans' Wishes About Healthcare

February 23, 2010 - 1:16 PM

Pres. Obama asked both houses of Congress to join together today to help solve “the healthcare crisis” in this country.  But, many are saying that the president is ignoring the wishes of American people by forcing them to accept his version of what’s best for their health.

The most controversial part of the bill would allow the government to block “excessive” rate raises by insurance companies.  By interfering with the private sector, the government will suffocate the freedoms necessary to maintain a successful market, especially during a time of economic recession.

And how much will all of this cost America?  The White House claims its price tag will be $1 trillion over the next 10 years.  But, the Congressional Budget Office refuses to estimate the cost, saying that they need more details.  As our national debt nears 12.5 trillion dollars, we should weigh the relevance of Healthcare.
